Mercury GSE and more than 25 participating organizations, including commercial contactors, suppliers and aviation industry professionals, joined nonprofit, Veterans Xtreme Adventures, in a clay shootout and fundraising tournament to help veterans better transition into civilian life.

The fundraiser and networking event took place at Defender Outdoors Clay Sports Ranch. There, participants on teams of four chose 12- or 20-gage shotguns and attempted to garner the most points as they shot sporting clay targets after a thrower machine propelled the targets into the air.

Mercury GSE co-sponsored the second annual event as top tier title sponsors with United Rentals.

“Events like this one are what helps us have a better outreach,” said Danny Tackett, strategic accounts manager at United Rentals. “It’s great that big organizations are willing to get involved.”

The tournament saw big winners and noble attempts, with the biggest win being supporting a good cause. The fundraising event raised more than $52,000 to help veterans with therapy, job placements, counseling and other needs.
